Description | Wilmington News Journal article.
An excerpt...
"Delaware Attorney General candidates Ferris Wharton and Beau Biden on Wednesday opened the traditional election season debate over debating.
In an exchange of letters, Wharton, the Republican candidate, expressed disappointment over Biden's decision not to join in a series of joint talk radio and cable television appearances -- most recently on former Wilmington Councilman Norman Oliver's Sunday night community-access "Community Crossfire" program.
Wharton urged Biden to commit to a series of debates around the state and offered to make himself available Sunday for Oliver's program. He suggested six other dates when he would be available this month.

In a reply to Wharton's letter, Biden said he would stick by his June commitment to debate Wharton, but disagreed on when the face-offs should start.
"I very much look forward to the fall when debates typically begin," Biden wrote.
Oliver, who sometimes co-hosts the show with state Rep. Hazel D. Plant, D-Wilmington Central, said Wharton gave a good accounting of himself on Sunday's show and that Biden is scheduled to appear on the program this week." |
