Description | Congress should reauthorize the Voting Rights Act so that every eligible American’s right to vote is protected by law, Nebraska’s Senator Ben Nelson said today.
Nelson announced today that he has become a cosponsor of the Voting Rights Act Reauthorization (S. 2703). The legislation reauthorizes the Voting Rights Act of 1965.
“Each citizen’s right to vote is their voice in our democratic process and the cornerstone of our democracy,” said Senator Nelson. “No American eligible to vote should have that right denied to them because of discrimination. I am proud to cosponsor this important legislation that will guarantee the right to vote for all Americans.” |
