Description | SANTA FE - He got just 385 votes in the primary election a month ago, but write-in candidate Anselmo Chavez says it's he who should be the Democratic Party's nominee for governor, not Bill Richardson.
Chavez plans to challenge Richardson in U.S. District Court as soon as today.
See, Richardson is listed on the ballot as Bill Richardson, not William Blaine Richardson or William B. Richardson. And Chavez - Anselmo A. Chavez, officially - says that disqualifies him.
"The governor signed his name Bill Richardson. I don't see a way for him to get out of it," said Chavez, a 74-year native of Quemado. |
