Description | Democratic congressional challenger Diane Farrell said she set a 4th District fundraising record this quarter, outpacing incumbent U.S. Rep. Christopher Shays for the second quarter in a row.
Farrell raised $787,736 from April 1 to June 30, $150,000 more than Shays, R-Bridgeport, who collected $638,000, the candidates announced yesterday.
Farrell's campaign officials said the former Westport first selectwoman's take was a quarterly record for the district, beating out Shays' 2004 third-quarter fundraising total of $662,000.
The incumbent has raised nearly $2.4 million and has $1.5 million cash on hand, compared with $1.9 million total and $1.4 million cash on hand for Farrell. |
