| Description | Republican U.S. Rep. Gil Gutknecht has held Minnesota's 1st Congressional District since 1994. The district spans the entire southern portion of the state. Traditionally it's been the most conservative district in Minnesota, but places like Rochester have shown Democratic leanings in recent elections. Democrats say Gutknecht could be vulnerable. But political observers in the district disagree. |
