| Description | Michael Ruane , a Salem Democrat who spent 30 years in the state Legislature honing his reputation as a fiscal conservative, died yesterday of cancer at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. He was 78.
``He was a wonderful father, a wonderful husband, and a wonderful state rep," said Helena Ruane , his wife. ``We had a beautiful marriage. He was very caring. Just a beautiful person. I didn't always agree with his positions, but I never interfered. It was my job to make sure his ties matched his suits." |
