DescriptionMarjorie McKeithen told Channel 10 KTVE in an interview tonight, she will most likely NOT file for Louisiana Attorney General. Though there had been movements towards a McKeithen candidacy, including filing a Statement of Financial Interest, and purchase of a website, as well as raising almost a $1 million for an undisclosed race, she held off formally announcing.

Now this evening, McKeithen indicated she thinks New Orleans Parish Sheriff Charles Foti has the right ideas, and support to be an accomplished AG.

McKeithen said she will formally make a statement before filing ends.

She was the 1998 nominee for U.S. Congress and some have speculated, she may have decided to seek a rematch against incumbent incumbent Richard Baker (R). She is the granddaughter of the late and popular Governor John J. McKeithen.

Her father, Secretary of State Fox McKeithen (R), denied any connection to clearing his daughter from running, to help his party's apparent presumptive nominee, Elections Commissioner and 2002 Senate nominee, Suzie Terrell.
