Description | Iraq's national security adviser said al Qaeda in Iraq documents and computer records confiscated in recent days provide a wealth of information to security forces fighting the terror network.
"We believe that this is the beginning of the end of al Qaeda in Iraq," said Mowaffaq al-Rubaie, speaking at a press conference in Baghdad. "This is a very good day for Iraq."
Al-Rubaie also broached the issue of troop withdrawals by multi-national forces, stressing that "we said on more than one occasion that a big portion of the multi-national forces will leave Iraq at the end of this year. And an even bigger portion will leave at the end of next year. And perhaps the last foreign soldier will leave Iraq in mid-2008."
