Chet Culver holds an 8-point lead over Mike Blouin and a 15-point advantage over Ed Fallon among likely Democratic voters who will choose the party's nominee for governor in Tuesday's primary election.

A Des Moines Register poll taken during the last full week of campaigning shows Culver, Iowa's secretary of state, is the choice of 36 percent of Iowans who say they definitely will vote in the Democratic primary.

Mike Blouin, the state's former economic development director, trails Culver with the support of 28 percent in the Iowa Poll.

Fallon, a state representative from Des Moines, holds down third place with 21 percent, and Sal Mohamed, an engineer from Sioux City, brings up the rear with 1 percent.

That leaves 14 percent of likely Democratic primary voters who are unsure which candidate will get their vote on Tuesday.

The poll has a margin of error of 4 percentage points.
