Description | A handful of Michigan Democrats say congressional scandals, President George W. Bush's sinking popularity and increasing voter discontent with the war in Iraq give them a chance to topple three southeast Michigan Republicans in Congress.
Dream on, say Republicans, though they couch confidence with advice that incumbents not take their jobs for granted.
The districts, all at least partly in Oakland County, are drawn to favor Republicans.
The incumbents -- Thaddeus McCotter of Livonia, Joe Knollenberg of Bloomfield Township and Mike Rogers of Brighton -- also have big fund-raising advantages. |
