DescriptionTens of thousands of people, most of them wearing white T-shirts and carrying American flags, are already gathered at the Arizona State Fairgrounds to march in support of legalization for undocumented immigrants.

Officials at the state Department of Public Safety said there now is complete gridlock on McDowell Road and 19th Avenue.

Interstate 17 has been shut down at McDowell. People still trying to get to the march are urged to come from the north and use the Encanto Boulevard entrance to the fairgrounds. Commuters on Interstate 10 are being told to exit at either Seventh Street or Seventh Avenue.

An overwhelming number of the marchers wore white T-shirts that organizers say are meant to symbolize the peaceful demonstration. Many in the crowd carried banners of the march's theme: Somos America: Hoy Marchamos MaƱana Votamos, meaning We are America: Today We March, Tomorrow We Vote.
