Description | The former leader of the Likud anti-disengagement rebels, Uzi Landau, is considering quitting politics for good, now that voters have booted him out of the Knesset following 22 years of parliamentary activity. As No. 14 on the Likud list, he was three spots away from getting into the 17th Knesset.
"Once, before I was a Knesset member, I worked as a lecturer at the Technion, an engineer for Refael [the government weapons development authority] and as director general of the Transportation Ministry. But I lapsed into politics, and now the lapse has ended," Landau said. "I don't know if I will remain involved in the public sector, and resignation is a natural and clear option. I will turn to other tasks."
Landau has no regrets about his opposition to the Gaza Strip pullout, or about the Likud's collapse. |
