Description | Gov. Tom Vilsack has accepted the invitation to speak at the South Carolina Democratic Party's Jefferson-Jackson Day dinner in Columbia on April 28, aides said today.
Vilsack, who is taking steps toward running for president in 2008, will be making his second visit since the 2004 election to the state expected to host an early Southern primary.
In December, he and his wife Christie attended Renaissance Weekend in Charleston, S.C., an annual gathering of policy, political and opinion leaders.
The event kicks off the party's state convention, which will give Vilsack a chance to meet party activists from all over the state. |
