| Description | Within the next several days, state Sen. Michael Machado will endorse Democrat Steve Filson’s congressional campaign, a spokeswoman for the senator said.
Filson, a political novice and airline pilot from Danville, is running in a Democratic primary for the opportunity to face Rep. Richard Pombo, R-Tracy, in the 11th Congressional District race on the November ballot.
Machado, D-Linden, has called Filson and offered his support, with a formal endorsement announcement expected later this week, Jodi Fujii, a Machado spokeswoman, said Wednesday evening.
In an interview earlier Wednesday, Filson said he was planning to announce an endorsement that would “blow everyone away,” but would not say whose support he had secured.
“I can’t say anything about that,” Filson said when asked if the endorser was Machado. |
