Description | Wilmington News Journal article.
An excerpt...
"For months, Sen. Joe Biden has been traveling the country, trying to figure out whether he can raise enough support -- and enough money -- to make a serious run for the White House.
So far, he says he hasn't found a good reason not to run.
"The response I'm getting is extremely encouraging," Biden said in an interview with The News Journal. "That doesn't mean I can do it, but nothing I've seen so far tells me I can't."
Biden has spent the past several months laying the groundwork for what could be his second national campaign. He has set up a political action committee, raised money, spoken to Democratic groups, hired staff, and brought back the close-knit network of friends and supporters who worked on his 1987 presidential campaign.
He took the next logical step this month when he visited New Hampshire, where the first presidential primary is held and where more than a dozen other presidential hopefuls already have made forays this year. His visit lasted only a few hours -- enough time to speak at a fundraiser on behalf of the Democratic mayor of Manchester who was up for re-election Tuesday." |
