Description | The Conservative Party wants to introduce a non-confidence motion in Parliament on Tuesday, CTV News has learned.
If all three opposition parties support the idea and it passes, the Liberal minority government will be defeated. This will put Canada into an election, with the vote to be held sometime in the days before Christmas.
While Liberals insist they don't want a campaign, Prime Minister Paul Martin looked like he was engaging in an election-style photo opportunity as he played bocce (Italian lawn-bowling) in Montreal on Saturday. |
