| Description | Brooke Ellison, a quadriplegic who graduated from Harvard, has without fanfare declared her candidacy for State Senate, according to her Web site.
"I am fighting to bring a refreshing change to Long Island politics by running for the New York State Senate," said Ellison, a Democrat, on her Web page. Ellison, who turned 27 last week, said she wants to find solutions to problems such as the lack of affordable housing and the state's "failure to fund embryonic stem cell research." |
