Description | State Sen. Jim Jordan of Urbana, one of the bestknown conservative Republicans in the Ohio legislature, yesterday launched his campaign for the congressional seat that will be left vacant by Rep. Michael G. Oxley’s retirement.
Jordan, a senator since 2001 who is barred by term limits from seeking re-election when his current term expires in 2008, is expected to be among the favorites to win the GOP primary in the spring. Because the district is heavily Republican, the winner of the May matchup would be a heavy favorite to triumph in November 2006. |
