DescriptionEven as Sen. Bob Graham runs for president as a centrist from the ''electable wing'' of the Democratic Party, he plans to call today for a tax increase that he says will help turn the economy around.

In a speech planned for Concord, N.H., Graham will propose creating a new ''millionaire's bracket'' for income taxes at 40 percent.

Under President Bush's tax cuts, the highest tax bracket is 35 percent of income.

''It's appropriate that those who have benefited the most from America make a contribution to paying the cost of America commensurate with that benefit,'' Graham said Wednesday, while campaigning at a NASCAR memorabilia shop in Roanoke, where he showed off the Ford pickup his campaign sponsors in the Craftsman Truck Series.
