Description | Former U.S. Treasurer Rosario Marin jumped into the race against Democratic U.S. Sen. Barbara Boxer on Thursday, saying that "Californians are ready for a change."
Marin, a Los Angeles County Republican who once worked for Gov. Pete Wilson,
left her federal job June 30, but has been looking at challenging Boxer for months.
She enters a field that has been getting smaller rather than larger. While Boxer, one of the Senate's most liberal members, is a regular target for conservatives, Republicans have had trouble attracting a big-name candidate to the race. |
