House Majority Whip Anthony G. Brown will not run for the U.S. Senate next year in favor of focusing more attention on running for attorney general.

He said that when he returned from Iraq, he was seriously considering a Senate run, but after several weeks of consideration, he has decided to focus more on attorney general.
Brown joins a number of other Democrats interested in that race, including Montgomery County State’s Attorney Douglas F. Gansler, Montgomery County Council President Thomas E. Perez and Prince George’s County State’s Attorney Glenn F. Ivey. |
