DescriptionNASHVILLE - State Rep. Harry Brooks said Wednesday he will seek election as state House Republican leader while Rep. Bill Dunn said he will not be a candidate.

Brooks becomes the fifth representative to express interest in succeeding House Republican Leader Tre Hargett of Bartlett, who recently announced he would resign from the Legislature to become a lobbyist for drug manufacturer Pfizer Inc.

Fellow Knoxvillian Dunn had said earlier that he had been asked by colleagues to seek the post and would consider the possibility. However, on Wednesday, he said, "I'm not going to submit my name for consideration."
