Description | Rep. Tom Tancredo, who once led the term-limits movement in Colorado, renounced his pledge to remain in the House for only three terms Wednesday, declaring that he needs to remain in Congress to lead the fight to slow immigration into the United States.
In a letter to 3,000 of his supporters, the conservative Republican from Littleton said he feared disappointing thousands of people across the country who have supported his controversial stands on immigration.
"At the present time I represent their best hope for change," he wrote. "I dare not abandon this cause." |
