Description | Facing a plateful of pressure from consumers, lawmakers and health experts, Kraft Foods, the maker of Oreos and Velveeta, announced a major overhaul in how it manufactures and markets food that critics say makes America fat.
Kraft, the nation's biggest food manufacturer, said it would stop marketing its products in schools, reduce the size of some individually packaged snacks and rework nutritional content.
Related Facts: Kraft is owned by a company called the Altria Group, formerly known as Phillip Morris Inc. Yes, the same Phillip Morris who manufactures Marlboro and other brands of Cigarettes. |
