Description | With 43 days to go until the Nov. 5 election, Maryland Democrats rallied around their gubernatorial candidate yesterday with a "unity breakfast" in Largo, a private "unity lunch" in Waldorf and a "Democratic Party Pride" reception in Greenbelt.
During the public events, the party's nominee, Lt. Gov. Kathleen Kennedy Townsend, received thunderous applause from Democratic officeholders, candidates and activists who say they are convinced that Townsend's reshuffled campaign has turned an important corner and is starting to reverse her slide in the polls. |
