Description | Although New Hampshire's 2nd Congressional District overall is politically competitive, Republican Rep. Charles Bass has avoided several Democratic efforts to oust him, and with relative ease. He won a fourth House term in 2000 with 56 percent of the vote, even as Democratic presidential nominee Al Gore narrowly carried the district.
Democrats, though, continue to contend that Bass is vulnerable, and they have tapped a candidate with a familiar last name to take up the challenge in this year's general election. |
