Description | John Edwards has a lot going on.
He is co-chairman of a task force put together by the Council on Foreign Relations on U.S. policy toward Russia.
His wife, Elizabeth, is battling breast cancer. He has a poverty center to run.
Now he has pledged to help Democrats win more seats in state legislatures across the country. He is making appearances at colleges, where he speaks about domestic and foreign issues.
Edwards, a former U.S. Senator who grew up in Robbins, recently returned to the United States from a visit to London, where he spoke at the London School of Economics, met with Prime Minister Tony Blair and Chancellor of the Exchequer Gordon Brown, who some expect to be Blair’s successor.
And there’s the matter of the 2008 presidential election. Most political observers think Edwards is sowing the seeds for another run at the presidency. He was Sen. John Kerry’s vice presidential running mate last year. |
