Description | Lt. Gov. Kathleen Kennedy Townsend yesterday launched the first television ad that directly criticizes her opponent in the Maryland governor's race, Republican Robert L. Ehrlich Jr., accusing him of voting to cut education spending and to eliminate a program that provides free lunches to poor schoolchildren.
The 30-second spot, which is airing several times daily on major stations in Washington and Baltimore, is Townsend's strongest response yet to criticism from senior Democrats that she has failed to counter Ehrlich's contention that he is a moderate, not a conservative Republican. |
