| Description | WASHINGTON -- A 2003 fund-raiser for then Rep. David Vitter, a longtime gambling opponent, was sponsored by controversial Indian gambling lobbyist Jack Abramoff.
The fund-raiser is the latest connection between Vitter, R-Metairie, now a U.S. senator, and Abramoff, who faces a federal criminal probe and a congressional inquiry into the more than $80 million he and an associate charged to represent Indian tribes.
