Description | A cougar and a bobcat aren't part of same cat family. But that didn't stop the Senate on Tuesday from placing both among the varieties of North Carolina's official state cat.
The Senate voted 43-5 for a bill that designates the Felis concolor as the official cat. That cat family includes the cougar, panther, puma and catamount, which are named in the bill. |
