| Description | MONTGOMERY — Three-term state Sen. Tommy Ed Roberts said Tuesday he does not plan to run for re-election in 2006.
"After 20 years, it will be time to pass this on to somebody else," the silver-haired Roberts said. "I chose this timing so that anyone interested in running will have time to organize a campaign before 2006."
June 6 is the first day potential candidates can raise money to run for election in 2006.
