Description | Tampa lawyer Bill McBride won the Democratic nomination for governor Tuesday as final vote counts from last week's bungled primary election showed him holding onto his narrow lead over Janet Reno.
McBride won by about 4,800 votes out of more than 1.3 million votes cast, according to the still-unofficial figures. He will face Republican Gov. Jeb Bush in November.
Renos aides declined immediate comment, but the former Clinton administration attorney general was expected to deliver a concession speech later in the afternoon. |
