Description | State Sen. Michele Bachmann wasn't stepping like someone whose high heels were killin' her, according to the photog who snapped her checking out the recent gay rights rally at the State Cap.
The Stillwater Republican who's against gay marriage was caught in the act by Matthew Crockett , a 'U' student who was working as a Lobby Day volunteer for OutFront. While walking into the Capitol, Crockett was tipped off by a state staffer that Bachmann was attempting to view the rally surreptitiously. "I rushed off down there to see if it was true," Crockett said. "If it was, that's just too good to pass up."
He found her looking like the ultimate Bush supporter, hiding behind shrubbery.
His equipment was a "pretty cruddy digital camera. I got one wide shot, where I zoomed in down towards the bushes when I was on the steps of the Capitol. Then I sort of ran down there," to get in closer. "I did manage to get away from a crowd there, some 4,000 people. Bachmann and company spotted me with the camera not too long after I got the first few photos. Bachmann and the two men with her started moving off rather quickly.
"They saw the camera and were like, Uh-oh, we're leaving now. And when they mean now, they mean NOW. Wasn't more than 30-45 seconds later that they were almost completely off the mall area. They definitely did not stick around." |
