Description | At least veteran New York Republican Rep. Sherwood Boehlert could laugh when a GOP colleague kiddingly called him "Landslide" Wednesday.
A moderate who had faced down several challenges during his 10 previous House elections, Boehlert survived his closest call ever in Sept. 10's New York primary.
He claimed the GOP nomination in the 24th District by 52 percent to 48 percent – a margin of just 1,427 votes – over conservative Cayuga County legislator David L. Walrath. |
