An excerpt..."The reader will recall during the 2004 Democrat presidential primary, people began to wonder if Howard Dean was sufficiently sympathetic to the plight of the black man in America.

Then came this utterly foolish snafu:
Quote:
"I still want to be the candidate for guys with Confederate flags in their pickup trucks," the former Vermont governor said in a telephone interview quoted in Saturday's Des Moines Register. "We can't beat George Bush unless we appeal to a broad cross-section of Democrats."

Now comes another troubling utterance from the angry little man from Vermont; one that has received surprisingly little scrutiny in the press.
Quote:
In a meeting with members of the party's African-American caucus, Dr. Dean looked around the room and asked whether anyone thought the Republican National Committee could get so many minorities together in one place.

"Only if they had the hotel staff in there," Dr. Dean said, answering his own question.

The hotel staff!? Imagine if a Republican had said that?

So the question still remains for one and all to chew over. Is Howard Dean sufficiently sympathetic to black plight in America? Or is he, indeed, a racist?"
