DescriptionBOSTON, MA (2005-01-21) Deval Patrick, a former top civil rights enforcer in the Clinton administration, is thinking about a bid for the Democratic nomination for governor in Massachusetts.

Patrick, born and raised in Chicago's South Side, came to the Bay State on a scholarship to the elite private school Milton Academy. He stayed here and eventually went on to Harvard, where he earned both his undergraduate and law degrees.

In his career, Patrick has worked for the United Nations and the NAACP, as well as elite Boston law firms and multinational corporations.

Bob Oakes spoke with Deval Patrick this week, as news broke of his possible bid.
