Description |
U.S. forces in Baghdad toppled a gigantic statue of interim administrator Jay Garner today, signaling that the brief regime of the retired general was at an end.
“Jay Garner is, for all intents and purposes, finished,” Commander-in-Chief Tommy Franks said from Centcom headquarters in Qatar. “The Iraqi people can now look forward to determining their own future and charting their own destiny under interim administrator L. Paul Bremer III.”
