Description | Former Sacramento County Supervisor Grantland Johnson said Tuesday he is considering running to replace the late Rep. Robert Matsui in a special election now set for March 8.
Johnson, 56, is a lobbyist for the Sacramento Labor Council and previously was secretary of health and human services under Gov. Gray Davis and Western regional health director in the Clinton administration.
Like state Sen. Deborah Ortiz, D-Sacramento, Johnson, a Democrat, is pondering the merits of running against Matsui's widow, Doris, who is expected to announce her candidacy today. |
