Description | St. Paul Mayor Randy Kelly hasn't officially said whether he's going to seek reelection in 2005, but wonks and watchers of all political stripes say that it looks more likely with each passing day. He's been actively fundraising in recent months and is putting significant time and energy into hearing what people have to say. To date, the only declared candidate is Ramsey County Commissioner Rafael Ortega. His colleague on the board, Susan Haigh, has said she's seriously considering a run, as is former City Council Member Chris Coleman. Both are expected to announce their intentions in coming weeks. So, what will it take to be mayor? Here are some early ruminations from veteran political watchers. |
