Description | With Republican Mike Johanns now out of the 2006 U.S. Senate picture, rumblings of a "Draft Tom Osborne" movement could be heard within the state GOP on Friday.
David Kramer, state Republican Party chairman, made an unsolicited public pitch for the football-legend-turned-congressman to run against Democratic Sen. Ben Nelson. Kramer said Osborne would be an "incredible U.S. senator and phenomenal candidate."
