Description | A count of absentee ballots has overturned a one vote lead in a Muscatine County race, election officials said Friday.
In the fourth district county supervisor’s race, Democrat Kas Kelly had 8,841 votes to Republican Dyan Roby’s 8,778. After a tally on election night, Roby was leading the race by one vote — 8,705 to 8,704.
Absentee and provisional ballots counted Thursday night gave Kelly the edge. A few more absentee ballots may be received but they aren’t expected to make a difference.
The count will be made official when the votes are canvassed Monday by the Board of Supervisors. |
