DescriptionPresident Bush's popularity may be a powerful force for Republicans in Indiana, but Democrats have their own phenomenon on the Nov. 2 ballot -- U.S. Sen. Evan Bayh.

The popular former governor has a commanding lead against Republican Marvin Scott in his bid for a second term in Washington.

Bayh is leading Scott, 61 percent to 22 percent, according to the latest Indianapolis Star/WTHR (Channel 13) poll. Libertarian Albert Barger had 2 percent support. Fifteen percent are undecided.
