DescriptionWilmington News Journal article.

An excerpt..."The Delaware Socialist Workers Party filed with state election officials Tuesday to place Roger Calero, the party's national presidential nominee, on the November ballot.

But Election Commissioner Frank Calio said he will not accept the party's proposal because it does not have the required number of registered voters in the state.

Calio said the party needed 259 registered voters statewide to qualify for ballot access.

Party officials submitted 507 voter registration applications for Delawareans wanting to register as Socialist Workers. Calio said 292 of those applications are invalid because they represented voters already registered with a different party, and the state deadline for changing party registration has passed. The applications include 55 from voters registered as Independents, which would have put the party over the required number."
