Description | alifornia's state assembly struck a last minute deal on the state's much-delayed $100 billion budget Sunday, breaking a two-month deadlock that had threatened the nation's most populous state with fiscal chaos.
The $99 billion budget deal, which the state Senate approved and sent to Gov. Gray Davis early Sunday, calls for about $9 billion in spending cuts and about $2.4 billion in revenue increases to plug the $23.6 billion budget deficit California faces this fiscal year. |
