Description"Trenton, NJ – In light of yesterday’s toothless decision in which the Supreme Court ruled that the McGreevey administration violated the state constitution by borrowing $1.9 billion to balance the state budget, Assemblyman Paul DiGaetano today renewed his call for sweeping court and budget reform from the top down.

The New Jersey Supreme Court simultaneously found unconstitutional the McGreevey administration’s borrowing of $1.9 billion to help support its 17% spending increase this year while at the same time it permitted the borrowing and thus McGreevey’s 17% spending increase. In its bizarre rationalization the court said “let bygones be bygones” and refused to order the McGreevey administration to redo its unconstitutional budget."
