Description | "BOSTON -- With Paul Cellucci set to resign early next year as U.S. ambassador to Canada, his legion of friends in Hudson is eager to welcome him home.
And so are many Massachusetts Republicans, who hope the former governor would be willing to run for John Kerry's U.S. Senate seat if he is elected president.
But Cellucci already has ruled out a Senate run, according to his former campaign manager, Rob Gray, who spoke to Cellucci on the phone yesterday.
"First of all," Gray said, "he believes the president is going to be re-elected, so it's a moot point. Secondly, he has no interest in running for Senate.""
