Description | Several Democratic House members said Thursday that they are researching impeachment proceedings amid allegations that Gov. Rick Perry may have engaged in impropriety.
The House members cite three recent incidents that they called gubernatorial lapses:
• Reports that Mr. Perry said he knows, based on the makeup of the justices, how the Texas Supreme Court might rule on state's school finance system.
• A $250,000 Lottery Commission contract with a Las Vegas law firm to draw up gambling legislation for Texas.
• An accusation by Comptroller Carole Keeton Strayhorn, a GOP rival, that the governor has ordered an extensive and ongoing audit of her agency.
