| Description | Haines is a self-described liberal who served one term as a state senator before being defeated by a moderate Republican. He's from Athens-- the smallest of the three major population centers of the district. He'll take a reasonable portion of the white vote there though should he decide to run, which could conceivably put him in a run-off. |
