Description | Rep. James P. Moran Jr. won today's Democratic primary in Virginia's 8th Congressional District, defeating challenger Andrew M. Rosenberg in a contest that has focused more on personal issues than policy.
With almost three-quarters of the vote counted, Moran led with 58 percent of the vote to 42 percent for Rosenberg, according to an Associated Press vote count. Moran now faces Republican candidate Lisa Marie Cheney of Alexandria, who was chosen May 15 at a party convention. |
