| Description | School Board member Marta Perez dropped out of the Miami-Dade mayoral race Tuesday, citing an inability to raise enough money to compete with better-funded opponents.
''The life blood of any campaign is money, and I have been unable to raise the kind of money necessary,'' she told a room full of supporters at the Renaissance at the Gables in Miami, ``in part because the county's campaign finance reform ordinance is not effective and has not solved the problem of check-bundling by power brokers.''
